Based on what?
Based on the same fairy dust fans have been sniffing when they guarantee we would be in 3rd place and playing great stuff if Waney was still here.

Heaven forbid Lam didn't have us playing like a treble winning side after 3 games, Jesus, He's inherited a team missing Tomkins, Bateman & Sutton and also hit with injuries to a scale we haven't seen in many years, Wayne Bennet would struggle ffs, I'm not saying Lam is the man but fans should at least save judgement till he's a had a decent run with a fully fit squad, If he is then proven to be shite then bin him off and bring in a new coach

He almost certainly will have that run over the next 4 games. All of the signs suggest he will he exposes as useless by then.

Farrell told us on Friday he was 2 weeks away.

Sammut was warming up on the pitch with the squad on Saturday so he must be fit now.

Lam is moaning yet again about possibly being without some players on Saturday. When he sounds like a forlorn loser even on our own website you have just got to wish for someone to put him out of his (and our) misery.

He said last week that the forwards were playing for their places as they had failed to perform to the standards required at Wigan. Well, following last weeks debacle at Camp Nou I expect changes. Failure of Lam to act, irrespective of injuries, will make him look weak in the eyes of both the supporters and the players.

Did he say that or did he say they were playing for their places because people were coming back from injury and we would have more players than positions?

The headline of the article suggested what you have alluded to but from memory the article read the way I have stated above.

The players have more power than Lam in the current setup as they have a job and he needs a job

We and Lam are facing the same issues as back in 2006. The squad isn't good enough and the chairman is expecting Lam to turn it around anyway.

If he can't and the chairman fires him, the only way a new coach of any quality will come is with the promise of new players now not next season. Remember when Noble came to bail us out he came with Fielden and Dobson.

The other possibility is if Lenagan thinks Lam is still the first choice, is for new players to arrive now. Lenagan has been following the game for decades and he must surely be able to see the issues the team has. If he chooses to do nothing about it he is hanging his "first choice" out to dry.
