Again, I enjoyed it. I love it that we sign and develop players of the calibre of Smithies and Partington. We don’t know how lucky we are. Bibby and Clark are clear upgrades on Sarg and Hamlin. The resignings are neither great nor rubbish.
Rads has made it clear there is more to come.
I have no issues at all with the club making a big issue of re signing brilliant youngsters and talking up the 2 low key signings.
Presumably, all of the doom and bloomers are completely ignoring Rads’ promise of more to come. If that is Hastings for Williams, that will be another piece of good business.

I too decided I'd move to Wigan and settle here when my working career was over. I look forward to receiving Rads' letter containing a big fat contract in due course.

How do we appoint a top coach when its other people at the club who are deciding on who we recruit. The whole set up is not right.
I can only see the slide continuing under this regime.

Well, IL appointed McDermott when he was at London, McGuire and Wane here, who have brought us a decade of success, so I think he should just do what he has done before, and find the best man for the job. If there is one thing where he has a superb track record, it is selecting coaches.

I am not sure the term 'brilliant youngsters' applies yet.They have potential but we will have to see if they fulfil it.I do have issues with us signing low key players as we do so often.That is why we are 9th in the league.Rads has made it clear there are more to come but more what? Wigan fans are treated very badly by IL and anyone who believes and accepts the crap he and Rads keep spouting deserve to be treated as such.

You have made this quite frankly silly argument before. He could have appointed Bellamy a few years ago but that would still have bugger all to do with how he is running the club now.

It really isn’t much of a stretch to follow the argument. Take a deep breath, you can do it:
- the question was whether IL will appoint a decent coach;
- none of us know the future, so we are left with considering what the past tells us;
- he has been responsible for 4 coaching appointments. McDermott at London, little known at the time, but lifted the Broncos to a new level and won multiple GFs at Leeds. Followed by McGuire, little known over here, but possibly the finest coach in SL history. When he legged it the minute he got an NRL gig, we appointed Wane. Whose style was disliked, but my god he could win trophies. Finally, he appointed Edwards, and we will never know how tha would have turned out, but many were very excited at the prospect;
- what this tells us is that he has a superb track record in appointing coaches;
- now that won’t stop the gloomy gloomsters asserting that we will appoint a rubbish coach. Indeed, I am very worried he will see something in Lam that is unseen to the human eye.
Please don’t think I object to what appears a completely irrational distrust bordering on hatred for the man. We all support in our own ways. However, in suggesting that an argument that his track record should be taken into account is “silly”, is ridiculous.
Oh, and if he had also plucked Bellamy from obscurity, I would be even more confident he will get it right.

Because I honestly believe Adrian Lam will be the coach next season and he is "okaying" these players signings.

The only thing that stopped the announcement today was in respect of his family issues at the moment.

Because I don't "Boo"!!!

Yes I bloody know transfer fees do not count on the salary cap for those illiterates that need it explaining to them because they assume everyone is as thick as they are :roll:

Even more ridiculous is the fact you openly contradict yourself on threads. Are you schizophrenic by any chance?

Exiled Wiganer wrote: Thu Jun 06, 2019 2:13 pm The sooner the better. The one announcement that worries me more than any other is that Lam may stay beyond the next 3 games. And they haven’t announced that, so we have dodged a bullet for now.
