Dual reg & loan recap

Post by josie andrews »

A look back at the weekend’s action involving Wigan players.

Liam Paisley, Jack Wells and Samy Kibula help Swinton Lions to a big win in France.

Josh Woods involved in Leigh Centurions win, whilst Craig Mullen and James Barran in action for London Skolars.

Wigan Warriors forward Liam Paisley scored a second half hat-trick to inspire Swinton Lions to a famous 20-18 victory at Toulouse Olympique on Saturday.

The second row, who is at Swinton on dual-registration, grabbed three tries to help the Lions become the second team in 2019 to defeat Toulouse at Stade Ernest Argeles in the Betfred Championship.

Jack Wells and Samy Kibula, who are on loan deals at Swinton, were also involved in the win in France.

Josh Woods was part of Leigh Centurions’ 52-20 triumph against Bradford Bulls on Sunday at Leigh Sports Village.

The half-back is on a season long loan at the Leythers and has played 17 games in 2019, scoring two tries.

Youngsters Craig Mullen and James Barran were in action for London Skolars on Saturday, as they beat West Wales Raiders 51-6.

Mullen, who is on dual registration with the Skolars, scored a first half try to help his side to victory, while Barran, who is on a season long loan deal, played the full 80 minutes at full-back.

The win for London saw them move up to second place in Betfred League 1.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
