Match report as Wigan Warriors’ Under-16s beat Warrington Wolves.

Eight try display from Anthony Atherton’s side sees off Wire at Victoria Park.

Wigan Warriors Under-16s thrashed Warrington Wolves 40-10 at Victoria Park on Wednesday night, in what was their first game since April.


After the annual three-month break due to educational studies, the Under-16s travelled to Warrington and posted eight tries to see off the home side.

First half efforts from Locklyn Grimshaw and Alex Sutton, plus two conversions from Alex Sutton saw the Warriors go into the break with a 12-4 lead. Callum Woolfenden went over for the Wire.

Tries from Sutton, Matthew Nicholson, Billy Cannon, Niall Povall and a brace from Zack Eckersley, as well as two Sutton goals in the second half resulted in the visitors running away with the points. Charlie Bancroft scored Warrington’s second try with Ciaran Moody adding the extras.
