I didn't think they were so flashed for cash at Cas ? But of course, in some ways, they are paranoid about Wigan !
He's a player under contract with them for this season. He wouldn't get into their strongest side so it's not like they are cutting their nose off to spite their face. Surely they are gaining a return by having him in their squad to provide depth? It's like saying Wigan having fringe players provides no return.

He's providing no depth for Cas if they are refusing to play him. They would save cash now if they moved him over to us, then we pick up the bill, despite him being on their books !

I agree with your summary that our so called "fringe" players provide no return on the SC - you only have to look at the Escare situation, whilst we have just recently off loaded other fringe players such as Kibula, Mullen, Forsyth etc, all of whom have been removed from our salary.

But how do you know they are refusing to play him? They played Watts, Smith, Millington and Cook at prop against London - all of whom have played better than Clark this year. But if one or two were to get injured they have the option of picking Clark.

Most of our fringe players don't count on the salary cap. They only count if they are in the top 25 earners or play in a salary cap relevant match, and don't count if they are out on a season long loan (which Forsyth was). Also, someone like Partington would count as a fringe player since he wouldn't into a full strength side - but he's clearly providing a return.
