Re: Wigan vs Warrington
Hugely impressive to keep Warrington scoreless for 70-odd minutes. Didn't see anyone have a bad game and fair play to Ben Thaler and his lino - they got virtually everything right and spotted a couple of dropped balls in the act of try-scoring that most people didn't see. The only major error was Oli's sin-binning. Penalty certainly but not malicious to warrant a yellow card.

I don’t know about outstanding but earlier in the season for sure Warrington would have scored a few,but the defence was good, but that’s all they did all the zip had gone out of them, for all that again in this run I didn’t think Wigan would lose as I really don’t think wire are as good as they,or sky think they areCaboosegg wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:11 amSecond half our defence was outstanding. I thought wire came out to play for penalties and never seemed onside (although i cant say).fozzieskem wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 7:55 am First half excellent, less so in the second half it has to be said, wire aren’t as good as they think they are and take Austin out and you have a team that offers little really, yet they came so close to scoring must be a worry for Lam.
Sarge again was steady,Zak too French gets people excited and as others have said Smithees and Partington go from strength to strength.
Thaler got most things right in fairness.
Even with that we bombed a fair few chances and if we can just sharpen up a bit more we could be posting some points.

I agree with you regarding Thaler he called it right,as for Gildart I thought it harsh Mano does seem to put his head down as he’s tackled so a little harsh, but still a good performance from ThalerSouthern Softy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 10:06 am Hugely impressive to keep Warrington scoreless for 70-odd minutes. I complained on Twitter!PAB721 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 8:08 am I have submitted a complaint to the BBC over their headline 'Injury-hit Warrington lose again at Wigan' - and the subsequent reporting in the article about Warrington's injury list. I pointed out all of the players that Wigan were missing and asked them to explain why the piece was so clearly biased. It will be interesting to hear how they justify such sloppy journalism.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

Great performance last night . The young forwards looked great and French looks exciting with Hastings and Burgess coming next season I might start going to games again.

We will because Hankinson and Bibby are not as good. As for Bateman any team would miss him.DaveO wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 3:21 amNot really. The players we miss are the genuine class players like Bateman.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:We will miss Sarge.jackthelad wrote: ↑Fri Aug 16, 2019 10:31 pm Another win chalked off, French shown great speed, reminded me a bit of John Ferguson, disappointed Hankinson has to make way for Sarge though, he played really well last week, our young lads in the pack are getting stuck in and not getting rolled over, very promising

He also made an error when he gave a knock on by Smithies, BMM stripped the ball and it should have been a penalty to Wigan. Wire scored straight after. Admittedly, the touch judge should have helped Thaler out.Southern Softy wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 10:06 am Hugely impressive to keep Warrington scoreless for 70-odd minutes. I don't know about Bibby but its horses for courses between Sarge and Hankinson and that's only because recently Sarge has had more than his usual one in four decent games. They are both of a standard where when they eventually leave it's shrug the shoulders time and they are pretty easily replaced as Hankinson will replace Sarge. When Sarge left last time I was glad to see him go and thought it was madness we re-signed him. Last season I saw nothing from him to change that opinion and the fact he has shown better form recently is no reason to get the tissues out and shed a tear hes off. He's been far too inconsistent over his time here to warrant that. He's still a player when he has the ball you wonder if it is going to be muck or nettles.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote: ↑Sat Aug 17, 2019 3:33 pmWe will because Hankinson and Bibby are not as good.
