Post by josie andrews »

A look back at the weekend’s action involving Wigan Warriors players.

Samy Kibula scores a try as Swinton lose to Widnes, Jack Wells and Craig Mullen also start for the Lions

Morgan Escare starts for Wakefield while James Worthington and Sam Grant feature for Rochdale

Wigan forward Samy Kibula continued his loan spell at Swinton Lions this weekend, bagging a try in the side’s defeat to Widnes Vikings on Sunday

Kibula, who came off the bench to make an impact for the Lions was joined by fellow Wigan players Craig Mullen and Jack Wells, who were named in the starting line up at centre and second-row respectively for the Betfred Championship fixture.

Elsewhere, full-back Morgan Escare came up against his parent club on Sunday after the Frenchman was named in Wakefield’s starting 13 to face Wigan Warriors at the Mobile Rocket Stadium.

Escare provided an assist for the try of Ben Jones-Bishop during the second half of the game.

WIgan’s James Worthington and Sam Grant were also in action as they lined up for Rochdale Hornets against Halifax in the Betfred Championship. Halifax ran out comfortable winners at The Shay in a 58-0 victory.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
