Head Coach Adrian Lam has named the 19-man squad to face Catalans Dragons this Friday

One change as Harry Smith comes in for Amir Bourouh

Wigan Warriors vs Catalans Dragons, Friday 6th September, DW Stadium, K.O. 7:45pm

Wigan Warriors Head Coach Adrian Lam has named the 19-man squad to face Catalans Dragons this Friday at the DW Stadium (K.O. 7:45pm).

Friday’s fixture will be the first time Wigan have faced Catalans since they met at Barcelona’s Nou Camp in May where the Dragons came away with the two points.

Wigan comfortably won when the two sides last met at the DW Stadium, being helped to a 42-0 victory by a Joe Burgess hat trick.

Team News

Jarrod Sammut, who picked up an ankle injury last week in training, remains out of contention for selection.

Captain Sean O’Loughlin and prop-forward Ben Flower remain sidelined but are expected to be in contention for the visit of Castelford Tigers on Friday 13th September at the DW Stadium.

Forward Joe Bullock also misses out as he recovers from a knee injury sustained vs St Helens in July.

Dom Manfredi (knee) and Tom Davies (ankle) remain the only long-term injuries for the Warriors.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Not sure if it's the right time for young Smith, he' s been good at Swinton but Lam has a settled side now and he wont change it, even when he says he would like to give Smith a run out, cant see it happening

Hankinson was showing good form and playing well in but he has gone down the pecking order, he also needs game time if we are to have any centre/2nd row injuries he's a natural replacement

Coaches dont normally change a winning team

Starting to have eyes on the playoffs.

It’ll be good for Smith for the match day experience too! Waking up knowing he “could” be playing makes a difference. A lot of you expect Smith to do a job for us when Hastings comes so why not

Wasn't the cleanest win but was worth turning up to see French play!!!!

Was disappointing crowd considering it was the second to last game of the season.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Been like that all season though which is a shame because this season has had it all, struggles, easy wins and peppered with new signings I don’t know what else the club can do.

But I don’t see there being a huge surge next season either sadly,an increase surely but not massive numbers

I think 10,800 v Catalans on a Thursday is about par.

It's 100 more than the Hull KR game last month & that was on a Friday.

A week later we had 12,555 against Warrington. That was disappointing imo.
