U19s Preview: Warrington

Match preview as Wigan Warriors Under-19s are set to face Warrington Wolves in the Academy Super League semi-final this Saturday at the Robin Park Arena (K.O. 12:30pm).

Wigan and Warrington have met each other twice so far this year with the former coming out on top on both occasions.


Saturday’s game will be streamed live on Wigan TV from 12:30pm.

The semi-final NOT enable free entry to Wigan Warriors 2019 Season Ticket Holders.

Entry to the game is £5 for Adults and £3 for Concessions.


Wigan Warriors Under-19s are set to face Warrington Wolves in the Academy Super League semi-final this Saturday at the Robin Park Arena (K.O. 12:30pm).

After finishing top of the Academy table, Wigan earned a home semi-final tie against fourth placed Warrington.

Shane Eccles’ side finished the regular season on 42 points with 21 wins from 22 games - two points ahead of second placed St Helens and 16 more than fourth placed Warrington.

The winner of Saturday’s semi-final will face St Helens in the Academy Super League Grand Final next weekend after they beat Leeds Rhinos 34-10 on Thursday.

Overall in the Academy Super League this season, the Warriors have the best attack (962 pf) and best defence (286 pa) with a total points difference of 676.

Last Saturday, Wigan beat London Broncos 56-16 at the Robin Park Arena to extend their winning run to 15 games.

As for the opposition, Warrington finished the regular season in fourth place, two points above fifth placed London Broncos, after winning 13 of their 22 games.

Wigan and Warrington have met each other twice so far this year with the former coming out on top on both occasions. The Cherry and Whites travelled to Victoria Park in March and beat the Wire 32-18, before cruising the reverse fixtures 58-4 at the Robin Park Arena in July.

Saturday’s game will be streamed live on Wigan TV from 12:30pm.
