Not with our current pack he didn't.

In 2013 in the double year the props were (ironically with the first two given they are playing for Salford) Dudson, Mossop, Flower, Taylor and Crosby. He also had Micky Mac at 9 with a back row of Hansen, Faz and Lockers when he could still walk.

That is so much better than our 2019 pack that played v Salford in the semi final it's not funny. And of course the players we stall have from back then are six years older.

Lockers to prop the bar up next season please

Sorry DaveO you've taken context that isn't there. Wane won tropheys with the pack he had in the seasons we won silverware. People where still saying how small our overall pack was throughout this.

Im not a anywhere saying this years pack is the one wane had.

After the 2013 GF win we went to Aus and played the Roosters in the WCC and sadly lost!
Immediately afterwards IL & Rads said we were too small and we needed to bring size into the squad.
We've been waiting and at last we do seem to be getting there.

Burgess, Bullock & Clark are big men. After them we have Flower who isn't a tall man, Clubb will probably be a reserve although he does have size. Following them we have Nav who is small and the younger lads who are big but who I wouldn't call front line props. Not just yet anyway.

One more big prop for me please.

Hastings will be a revelation for you next year . Behind a better ,stronger pack . You guys will be finalist next year . That i have no doubt !

You said the chairman wasn’t bothered about the pack because Wane won trophies. Not just Wane won trophies with the pack he had. Well look what that attitude left us with.

A number of people are calling for at least one other big forward but I am still concerned about the balance in our backs. We have lots of wingers and only one real strike centre as well as uncertainty around our pivots. I think that for their own good several senior players should hang their boots up soon. If Hastings does just one season we could see a major clear out especially as several players might be looking for a big in Aus. It could be Leeds all over again.

The winger situation needs addressing the club have far too many its time to thin them out,you simply can’t have 5 front line wingers in a salary capped sport add that the young lads behind them then it’s time to be brutal and cast 2 if possible aside this season and balance the squad.

I’ve said from the start French is “luxury”signing and one really the club needed when there are other areas that need addressing.

It's great that we're looking for a bit more size in the pack but we also have to make sure the players are not only big but mobile and athletic.

Tony Clubb is bigger than Luke Thompson but who would you rather have in your side? I think the issue over the years is that our more consistent forwards during a season have been the smaller, more lightweight ones and the bigger players that we've had failed to make the impact you'd expect.

In the early games this year Hamlin was one of our most effective forwards going into contact (until his form went horrendously bad, and we've almost certainly discovered the reason for that) so it's not just about filling the team with big players. There's a place for the likes of Flower and Partington in any side but it's been obvious for a while that we needed players who could actually put at least 8-10 strong carries in a game.

And of course, most importantly, we just need top quality props. We do have some lightweight middles but we've also had plenty of props who were average or above averages size and they just weren't good enough.

Burgess is obviously an example of a big forward, but Mitch Clark is about the average size of a SL forward. Smaller than Clubb, Tautai, the same size as FPN.

We also need size in the back row and luckily we have that in Greenwood if he can find the form he had at the end of 2018. Farrell, Isa and Smithies is a small back row compared to a lot of sides in Super League. Most back row forwards are around 100kg + whereas those 3 are all 90-95kg.

It might not seem a big difference but it all adds up when you're trying to make an impact against a big, aggressive defence.
