World class and Gelling should never be in the same sentence. Let’s be honest, he is a big lad that can sometimes cause problems for opposing centres. But just as often he causes problems for his own team.
Good luck to the lad, but personally I wouldn’t have him back.
The word I used was could..big word that he simply didn't fullfill his potential for my money, unplayable at times then he'd drop the ball, usually quite literally.

But another of those players who's good but could have been so much better.

IL making himself look silly if true
Gelling confirming he spoke to Wigan, and Wigan trying to sign him are 2 completely different things. It means nothing.
Honestly I think its for the wire fans consumption, oh look we got a player wigan really wanted back when in truth all that happened was he wanted Wane's phone number and he rang the club for it (or something along them lines )

I've said previously on here.

When Gelling played badly he was easily the worst player on the pitch (of either side).

When he played well he was often the best player on the pitch.

Too much of the former than the latter meant it was his maverick behavior off-field that gained him his (often childish) adulation
I'm a better fan than you
Because I don't "Boo"!!!

Yes I bloody know transfer fees do not count on the salary cap for those illiterates that need it explaining to them because they assume everyone is as thick as they are

He says

“We had a conversation, there was no formal offers, but there was a conversation.

That doesn't say we tried to sign him to me
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

GELLS

In love rugby league stating Wigan DID try to sign me
He also says sometimes rejection can result in denial it is what it is
Wonder what Wigan’s reaction will be
Best thing to do will be to force him into having a brain fart and then say well that’s why u are playing for dire and not us
wigans turning blue- my arse

Quick play the balls and run at him while hes struggling to get back in the defensive line....... its a massive weakness in his game
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE

He's got his place. A wildcard who can be thrown on when a gamble is needed.

However, he isn't consistent enough, and this is the reason he hasn't made it at the very top level.

Wolves are putting all there eggs in one basket with gelling.
Saying now he’s there to break the curse.
Don’t know what player they think they’ve signed like.
You’d think they’d signed Greg Inglis!!
