Head Coach Adrian Lam has named his Wigan Warriors 21-man squad to face Huddersfield Giants this Sunday in Round 5 of the Betfred Super League.

The Cherry & Whites will come up against a Giants side that are unbeaten in 2020 so far, winning all three of their opening Betfred Super League fixtures.

On facing the Yorkshire side, Lam said earlier this week, “They’ve got a couple of smart halves, they’ve got a good pack who work hard for each other and have had three good wins. It’s always a tough game when we go away there.

“They will be hard to beat there but if we keep improving on the things we’ve been trying to achieve and make sure we back our defence and keep them quiet then hopefully we can come away with the win.”

Team News
George Burgess returns to the 21-man squad for the first time since Round 1. The forward has since been recovering from a hip injury.

Earlier this week The 49 year-old provided an update on skipper Sean O’Loughlin, who after seeing a specialist about his eye injury, is not to train for the next two weeks.

Lam detailed that the loose forward would likely be out for four weeks.

Prop-forward Ben Flower misses out as he recovers from a back strain.

Centre Oliver Gildart isn’t available for selection as he continues recovery from a dislocated shoulder sustained on International duty last Autumn for Great Britain.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
