March games and league position

Post by morley pie eater »

Surrounded by Rhinos fans, I'm getting the "We are top of the league" rubbish. I knew that we had some winnable games coming up so thought I'd compare the top few teams' fixtures until the end of March.

Leeds: Cat A, Sts H, Cas A

Wigan: Sal A, Cat H, Wak A

Cas: Sts H, Sal A, Lds H

Hud: (cup), Hull H, Tor H

Saints: Cas A, Lds A, HKR H

War: Hull A, HKR A, Cat H

Some tasty games there! If we keep our focus, we should be aiming for 3/3.

And if we win all our games, there's no reason we can't be 4 points clear at the end of March

Leeds have had it relatively easy also so far

Losing to Hull
Beating HKR
Salford
Wire
Toronto

There is always a team who has a good start and tails off

(Hope it isn’t us)

James Slevin
Ces Mountford
And the “kind of rugby player you’d want to be in your dreams” James Leytham
Should be in the Wigan Warriors Hall

I said elsewhere the other day that I thought Leeds would be there or thereabouts at the business end of the season, and was told to give my head a wobble, and that Leeds were rubbish.

We shall see.

I think Leeeds will be maybe top 4 or 5 no more than that, certainly under Agar they're better than they have been for a couple of years at present but have they the depth when injuries come a calling thats the question.

Spot on imo, Foz.

With some good young ones, I think Leeds could be a real threat by next year. They'd need luck with injuries and results to be GF contenders this year. The rest of March will make the picture clearer.

Leeds, Catalans, Huddersfield and us have lost one game.
Catalans host Leeds next week so one will end up having lost two games.
Of the next four games we have the least difficult run.
Maybe the Catalans home game will be the biggest test.

It'll be good to be top as much as possible right now incase games are cancelled because of the virus.

I can see that happening, unfortunately.
