morley pie eater wrote: Fri Apr 17, 2020 2:47 pm I've interpreted "favourite" as players I liked - entertainers or characters as well as good players, but not necessarily the best in their position:

1. Hampo
2. King Billy
3. Dean Bell
4. Tuigamala
5. Henderson Gill
6. Bill Francis
7. Frankie Parr
8. Neil Cowie
9. Nicky Kiss*
10. Kelvin Skerrett
11. Ian Potter**
12. Bill Ashurst
13. Ellery

* Bring back ball-stealing.
**Every team needs a grafter, and my lad played 2nd row in under-11s and I got him to watch and copy Potter. Also worth including for his pass to Fergie, Wembley 85.
Still see that in my head.

Step. Stutter. Pass. ---> Shimmy. Try.
My most memorable try ever. My lad was barely 8 years old, sent home from school on Friday with a temperature over 100 degrees (F). I couldn't not take him to his first Wembley. He was screaming "give it to Fergie!!!". I think Potter heard him.
