Tony Clubb's season looks to be over.

The veteran prop has a neck injury which has prevented him playing since the season restarted.

And Adrian Lam confirmed today the 33-year-old will be sidelined for three months - effectively ending his campaign.

Lam said: "It is a vertebrae (injury), specialists have talked to Dr Chris Brookes and the physios here.

There are two options, he can go down the path of an operation, or rest it.

"Either way it's a three month layoff. It's not ideal for the club or for Tony, but we have to make sure we have the best interests of his welfare first.

"He's got a long period of time off to see if it settles on its own and then some decisions can be made from there."

Asked whether he may play again this season, Lam replied: "If the timeframe is what we're working to, he'll be back two weeks before the finals. So I think, realistically, no."

Clubb - who had neck surgery in 2016 - is contracted to the end of next year.

He played played in Wigan's 42-10 win at Huddersfield but missed the following two matches before the season was halted due to a shoulder injury.

Sorry but nothing new everything has time scale and he is better to retire as he will never be safe with this injury

Clubby himself should realise that these repetitive neck/back injuries could seriously affect his quality of life after he stops playing. Sadly he should retire now for his own sake.
