Faz has the experience and presence to be a solid captain in 2021! Would happily consider Sam Powell, Tommy Leuluai and Willie Isa as VC.

As for Field, French and Hastings, it reads strength in depth and French and Field are clearly very versatile players.

I am not particularly fussed who takes over as captain to be honest. My opinion is leaders will always lead regardless of the armband. My opinion is it will be Tommy or Powell. Farell and Isa are confined to one side of the pitch and do not need to do as much communication as the other two.

Being captain imo goes hand in hand with a pivot player who naturally moves around, communicates, organises etc.

Assuming we play the same way in the second half next season as we do this year, then Faz seems to switch to loose forward and Joe Greenwood comes into left side second row. Means Faz is everywhere (no change there, then) and could easily skipper.
Plus he deserves it.

It isn't a question of whether he deserves it or not.

Not everyone is suited to it, not everyone will want it. We don't know enough as fans and never will as to who the options are and who is most suited.

He deserves it because he's the best leader on the field that we have.

Farrell would be ideal as Captain if he was more vocal on the field.

On saying that, fans were saying the same when Lockers was given the captaincy just because he was different to Andy Farrell.

He may not want the captaincy, he may prefer to be part of the leadership group.

Powell, I’ve been reliably informed, is not only vocal on the field but also in the dressing room.

Exactly the reason he probably isn't suited. Square peg, round hole. You shouldn't force it upon a player and try to make them act differently to what is natural. Leaders will always lead regardless of captaincy, people will speak on the pitch regardless of being captain or not.

Powell looks most suitable at this stage.

The difference is that Lockers captained every team he ever played for right from junior level.
