Where do you start with this?

Where is the evidence that owning the ground would make money?

Since Saints moved into their new Stadium their accumulated losses are over £7 million, in that same period Wigan lost £3.78 million.

As for the ground being too big, the average attendances at the JJB/DW are higher in the twenty years there than they were in the previous twenty years at Central Park.

The average cost for stadium rental is around £280K per per season, how much do you think it would cost to build and maintain a new one?

Very true !
And do we cater for an average crowd of today around 10-12,000 or do they try and plan for an expansion of that number. SL's format in recent years (loop fix's), and Sky's saturation of Wigan fixtures, has negatively affected crowd numbers, not to mention the ongoing loss of home fixtures in the May - July period.
If I recall correctly, we averaged around 16,000+ in that Noble "relegation" year but at least those games meant something. We have to have meaningful marketing and regular fixtures that have results depending on them.

Yes people fondly remember the 28 - 30,000 v Saints at Central Park but forget the 7 - 8K v Sheffield, Workington and just over 6K v Warrington.
