I do try not to single players out but Clark has been bloody woeful since he signed apart from another body would he really be missed?
Even big George had one fine game.
But again it comes back to a recruitment - this was a player who had only twice (for york and featherstone) started more games for any club he's played for than he had been on the bench for
If you look at his history starts being the first number, bench appearances the second;
Doncaster 11-12
Bradford 6-18
Hull KR 7-8
York 1-0
Cas 0-24
Featherstone 6-5
Halifax 0-1
Leigh 1-6
That in itself maybe not an indicative stat but look at how many times he was loaned out and the level of club he was loaned too and still not managing to do anything.
There is absolutely nothing in the history of this player that suggests he was ever going to be a good buy
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure

You can interpret this in two ways:
- In search of first team rugby because he knows he isn't good enough to break Wigan's 17
OR
- In search of first team rugby because he thinks he is good enough but being hard done to
Given the fact we only have 3 senior props, 1 of which is a complete waste of space, its a little worrying Wigan were considering loaning him away and he was happy to accept. Biggest indication the club see him behind Partington, Havard and maybe even Byrne.
Byrne and Kilner are both ahead of him in my book. Rads obviously had a different view of his abilities than I do, or he signed Clark when he thought he was getting Watts.
In my view Mitch Clark was always only a "project" signing and we need to be careful in future making such signings. Not many have come off for us, in memory I could only point to the relevant success so far of Joe Bullock in recent times. We used to have scouts that came up with better results, so can only hope Clark has been great in pre season and will be a revelation in SL - the jury's out !

I agree with you it was an odd signing as I had to check he'd even played against wigan when he was turning out for Cas so forgettable hes been to that points hoped that he would turn out to be a shrewd signing but so far well its not been the case has it.

Mitch had a stormer against Wigan the season before we signed him, truth be told we had a weakened team out that day.

We have the six props listed, plus Kilner, and last season we drafted Shorrocks in a few times, although he isn't a prop, and he performed creditably enough. I can't see Clark would be missed.
