Re: George William's released by Canberra
that article went on and on forever
he could only go to 2 clubs Wigan or Wire (but neither can afford him)
so i'll chuck in Leeds and raise you Leigh, and then of course there is Huddersfield
why not just say he could go to any super league club and save me about 20 minutes reading rubbish

Re: George William's released by Canberra
I think overall it would be a logical and proven signing. With Jacko going, we need an expirenced 7 and George could be the answer!
If it's correct re: 75k salary cap, I'm presuming we can afford him? Wouldn't be massively surprised if Wire and Leeds throw their hats in too!
Almost seems quite spiteful the way George has been portrayed down under!
Seems best overall he returns to the UK!

Genuine question, and I've no idea of the answer:
Talk of salary cap restrictions, but just suppose Canberra and Wigan both have similar problem - could 2 "loan" deals be arranged for Bevan and George respectively?
Just asking.

Glad we didn't get too involved in that one. He was clearly trying to get more cash from wire. We'll have to look elsewhere for Gilly's replacement.
Re: George William's released by Canberra
£170k he is on at Warrington, Wigan wouldn't even go near him at £150k. Like ive said all along, all signs point to saving money for Williams as a priority. Its so so close now. that is all I can say
Re: George William's released by Canberra
I fully Believe that all rugby players are under paid for the job they have, however going of what you hear players are on Toby King is not worth 170k, great player but for 170k I'd want a game changer.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

100% Agree mate. I do think King is one of the best in the comp in his position, but for £170k he either had to stay at Wire or move to Hull KR on a Marquee contract. None of the other top clubs who would have little dispensation towards him would pay him that much, as proven really
