I heard that the club were trying to bring Eddy Pettybourne back on a short-term deal!
I’d definitely give up on our recruitment if we did sign Eddy again.
Was crap first time round, can’t imagine he would be any better second time.
The best thing he did when he was here was that scrap he had with Paul Wood. Made wood look a right tool

Well if Meds is for an old boy returning then he must pass muster.

Jai Field for French
Farrell Bateman can both play 80 or spell with Smithies
Clubb comes under we need 2 big props banner
Leuluia is halting Smiths progression
Powell isn’t a game changer but wouldn’t mind him at 13 if we keep him.

You must be joking. We are already struggling to make meters and you suggesting putting Powell at 13.
You can’t sign everybody, moving Powell to 13 maintains his high tackle count in the middle but let’s you sign a better hooker, he would also be a link player from forwards to backs with his passing ability and can also kick in play so no I’m not joking.

Can't sign him, he might get injured before his Brooklyn Kings debut!

Kyle Wood is 3 years older than Powell at 31!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I would hope we have scouts to find us someone - they dont need to be available as in off contract for us to make something happen.

But having a quick glance on off contract for a realistic target - Kyle Wood
Sorry but you replace with better surely otherwise is just change for changes sake,it’s clearly not just Wigan who seem to be struggling to find players the market is stagnant clogged with the usual suspect who crop up every year or so
I think Kyle Wood offers more than Powell
Victoria Wood offered more than Powell....

Powell gets an unfair rap! Started as a half and had a few injuries early on then went to 9, he ain’t a 9, he’s doing a job their and knows he’ll never get back in the halves.

For me however we need a 9 that can change a game be it traditional or scooter (that’s another debate) that said there’s still a place for Powell, his marker tackles and number of tackles is exceptional, 8 games in 2 errors!

Move him to 13 still benefit from his tackles in the middle and see what he can do linking the forwards with the backs.

People bang on about sticking another prop in at 13 yet let’s be honest we ain’t making enough metres as it is so 2 big props a good 9 and Powell to 13, we could do a lot worse.

Also Powell to me is a leader by actions, he gets stuck in and I’d consider him as captain.

I really don't get why everyone hates Sam Powell so much. In 2016 we had an absolute horror show with injuries, Micky Mc snapped his ankle against Brisbane and Powell stepped up. He was one of the best players we had that season.

He'd tackle a brick wall if it ran at him, he's not flash but does the basics right. Unless you're bringing in Daryl Clark, there's no one else in SL I'd replace him with. Certainly not McShane. He doesn't scoot as much as Clark but no hooker in the league does. Clark is a class act and a very harsh standard to judge someone against. Might as well drop Manfredi too because he's not as good as Josh Addo Carr!

It feels like people haven't forgiven him for being retained over Logan Tomkins (does he even play anymore??) let's be honest here, if Logan didn't have 2 brothers who could play a bit he would have been released long before getting into the 1st team squad yet people still hold it against him for some reason.
