Squad v Huddersfield
Adrian Lam names the Wigan Warriors squad to face Huddersfield.
Experienced forward Tony Clubb returns for selection.
Wigan Warriors v Huddersfield Giants, Sun 11th July, DW Stadium, K.O. 3pm.
Adrian Lam has named the Wigan Warriors squad to face Huddersfield Giants this Sunday in Round 14 of the Betfred Super League.
The two clubs will meet for the first time in 2021, after having their Round 9 fixture postponed due to COVID 19 cases in the Giants squad.
Team news
Willie Isa has been handed a two-match penalty notice (Grade C, Dangerous Throw) and will serve the first of two this week).
Ethan Havard will serve a one-match ban following an accumulation of Grade A charges.
Experienced forward Tony Clubb returns for selection after completing his eight-game ban.
Injury news
Oliver Partington is absent after leaving the field for a Head Injury Assessment last Sunday against St Helens. Speaking earlier this week, Adrian Lam suggested the young forward would be a “serious doubt” for the R14 tie.
Zak Hardaker is unavailable as he recovers from a neck injury.
John Bateman misses out with an ankle injury picked up while on England duty two weeks ago.
Jai Field remains side-lined with a torn hamstring injury sustained during Round 1 against Leigh Centurions.
Bevan French too continues recovery from a hamstring injury, expected to keep the full back out for the remainder of the 2021 season.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Squad v Huddersfield
Have we found out anymore about the length of time Hardaker is out.
Not that it's the only issue but we really need a fullback.

These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

I’d play Pierce-Paul at loose forward. He has a great passing game & offload. Best player there since Lockers IMO

Would like to see Umlyla Hanley given a go at Full back so Jackson Hastings can revert back to Half back.
But if AL insists on playing Jackson at Full back I would put Umlyla on the wing and put Jake back to centre.
Would give Tommy Leuluai a rest, looks like he needs one and play Harry Smith with Jackson Hastings.
I think Joe Shorrocks would be a better choice at loose forward he ticks all the boxes skill wise and work wise,
let KPP stay in the second row he is playing well and looks comfortable why put him in a new position when
he is just adjusting to first team rugby.
