Hastings has experience though. If we play borough it is another inexperienced player in our line up, potentially weakening the team in some peoples eyes. We will not benefit from giving him experience as he is leaving, so if it weakens* the team and has no future gain for us I can see the reasoning behind not playing him.

*I'm not personally saying he weakens the team, just saying this could be the reason.
Thanks for explaining it Dan.
I totally get what both of you mean but havent we tried the, lets put our best players out at once( regardless of what position they play) approach?for me, it hasnt worked, thats why i want a hooker at hooker.
I really don’t know why the lad who’s staying isn’t playing ( at this moment in time nothing surprises me)but I’m tired of letting players go fully up and running with good game time under their belts, why should Salford benefit from him playing, and this isnt having a go at the lad more a go at the barn pots in charge frankly

Plus I do feel Hastings would be a better option at boomer if Field is fit

All I can think of is that the club think O'Neill is the better long term prospect but Bourouh is better equipped to play now.

Although Hastings would do a good job, I am just worried about a Smith Field halfback combo

I agree pal, that's what needs to happen, I can just understand why they are making the selections they are.

I honestly think Leeds will do a proper job on us tonight.

So close! He had to go and ruin it with the hooker selection! Ha, I think other than that though it’s a decent team if field has the fitness for FB

Isn’t Hastings also leaving?

I wonder if they are frightened playing an actual hooker at hooker might show their blue eyed boy up so at least sticking a forward with zero pace and experience there will mean the sam Powell fans can tell us how much we’ve misses him when he returns

Although if I’m honest shorrocks hasn’t offered any less really
