Totally agree with everything that DaveO and EEP have said.

The more I read about the Fans Forum and KRs comments the more concerned i am about the future on the playing side of the Club. I would suggest Rads opinion on players ability and what we actually need is different to the majority of the fan base.

Even with the proposed new recruits there still feels an unbalance to the squad, too many second rowers (if Isa is extended), too many utility backs and not specialised centres, the uncertainty surrounding the half back position and even though we have signed two NRL Props we still appear short (depends on how the new guys settle).

The planning around recruitment seems very haphazard to me and many others.

Rads also mentioned Saints are going to struggle , has he seen their recruitment and then the following day they announce Sironenen (sp) on a three year deal. They appear to replace like for like unlike ourselves. I would suggest Mike Rush is the kind of person we need at the helm!!!!

Have to disagree, Mike Rush is not right for Wigan.
Might be at Saints but not Wigan.

Exactly. Saints have just renewed the contracts of half their squad and are still recruiting heavily. It is about getting the balance right and constantly looking to improve your squad.

As for KPP’s contract we have money available under the cap for 2022. The following year will see a number of players leave and that such swell the club’s coffers. I don’t for one minute believe that we are anywhere near the salary cap limit for 2022. It is likely that Hastings, Gildart, Clubb, Tommy, Bullock, Clark and Manfredi will not be around next season and it looks like we have signed Ellis, Mago, Miski and Thornley as well as some players getting a contract upgrade. There is no way the incomings are anywhere near the outgoings from a salary perspective, don’t let them con you!
According to the fans forum we have budgeted for another half back. After that there is only 75k left after any existing contracts have been upgraded for 2022.
That’s not what Rads has said on the Warriors website, which are we to believe?

Cannot have it both ways.

Granted the more players we bring through, the more decisions that have to be made and based on the above transcript you could interpret we have offered favourable contracts to too many forwards all at a similar time who are at a similar phase of development.
Granted it may work abs they may become corner stone of the pack, but on current viewings they look lost, low on confidence and burned out. So it’s not going to be worth it in the end.
Well said Nathan.

Yeah, as they said, we've got enough for a half plus 73K for someone else or leeway.

He did say that Charriots. Its in the fan forum blog.
KR wrote: I will point out an error that that Ian made on his slide where it showed you was 73 grand on the salary cap left to spend. The good news Ian is I did factor in the reckoning that there is room there for to go and buy a half back and then the 73 grand on top. So that’s a bit of good news.

How do the club know that £73k remains before they have actually signed a halfback?

Obviously they can make an estimate but to come out with specifically £73k remaining seems odd.

Also, question for Dan, if we only have £73k remaining, why were we bidding for that Castleford winger?

Without reading all the pages or links, I'm guessing we could offer a NRL half £500k and we have £73k left?

Where does my analogy go wrong? (apart from the fact we will probably be looking at a half from Rochdale)
Back by demand.
