Seven tries see the young Warriors win at Hull University.

FT | Hull FC Academy 12-40 Wigan Warriors U19s

Wigan Warriors Under-19s scored seven tries to see off Hull FC Academy on Saturday afternoon at Hull University.

The Warriors started off well as Reagan Sumner crossed over in the corner for the game’s opening try.

Despite Hull responding and going ahead with a try and conversion, Wigan went back in front after Matty Nicholson touched down. The goal converted by Alex Sutton.

Brad O’Neill got Wigan’s third try and that was converted by Sutton to take the visitors into half time with a 16-6 lead.

Wigan’s control of the game got even stronger early in the second 40 as tries from Billy Cannon and Ellis Hobson – both converted by Sutton – saw the Warriors go 28-6 in front.

Kyle Huish scored Wigan’s sixth try and with the goal added by Sutton the warriors now led 34-6 with 20 minutes remaining.

Despite a Hull try towards the end, the Warriors finished things off in style as Max Wood powered over – along with Sutton’s conversion – to complete the 40-12 victory.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
