Partington praises key workers

Post by josie andrews »

Oliver Partington is hoping to see plenty of key workers at the DW Stadium as part of the Club’s Superhero Round.

Partington: “It’ll be important for us to get a win as the season ender.”

Wigan Warriors v Catalans Dragons, Friday 17th September, DW Stadium, 7:45pm K.O. Get your tickets today by clicking HERE.

Oliver Partington spoke to Wigan TV ahead of Friday’s Round 25 fixture against Catalans Dragons and he is hoping to see plenty of key workers at the DW Stadium as part of the Club’s Superhero Round.

The Superhero theme is to celebrate the efforts of all key workers, who have been outstanding during the Covid-19 pandemic and have acted as our very own ‘superheroes’.

On the initiative, Partington said: “I’ve got a few family and friends who have been key workers during the pandemic. They’ve been massive for us, the whole country and across the world.

“It’ll be nice to see some of the down (at the DW) for the game and making use of the free ticket offer.”

The fixture is the final of the regular season for the Warriors, who have already secured a fourth placed finish and are guaranteed to play in next Thursday’s Play-Off Eliminator, with the opponents still to be decided.

On this week’s game against Catalans, Partington said: “The result from earlier in the season against Catalans does sit in the forefront of our minds, they embarrassed us out there, so it’ll be important for us to get a win as the season ender.”

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
