In Memoriam: Stephen Holgate

Wigan Warriors are deeply saddened to hear of the news that Stephen Holgate has died, aged 49.

Holgate, a former prop forward and second rower, played 22 games for Wigan in 1998, including the Super League Grand Final.

He also represented Halifax, Hull and Workington.

Wigan Warriors send their deepest condolences to Stephen’s family and friends at this awful time.

Yes, very sad to pass away so young. I liked him as player and was surprised he didn't have a longer career at Wigan.
