Ray Ashby, Bill Ashurst and Nicky Kiss are among many Wigan greats set to attend the first-ever Wigan Rugby League Past Players Association Lunch Event on Sunday 12th June.

The event is open for past players, fans and businesses to attend and will take place at Standish Social Club on 12th June between 1pm and 5pm. Hosted by Dave Swanton, it will be an afternoon of chat and comedy in the company of Wigan past players in the newly refurbished Standish Social Club, featuring Comedian Jamie Sutherland. A chicken roast dinner will also be available – supplied by Club Chef, Stu Robinson.

Confirmed past players for the event so far include Alan Greenall, Bill Ashurst, Chris Tuson, Colin Tyrer Dave Regan, Dave Walsh, David Williams, Dennis Ramsdale, Frank Parr, Graham Mayor, Jack Litherland, Jimmy Belshaw, Malcom Swann, Tracey Grundy, Martin Sivori, Nicky Kiss, Paul O’Neill, Phil Eastham, Ray Ashby, Sean Tyrer, Steve Breheny, Terry Cassidy, Tony Stephens and Mick Nanyn.

Club Historian, Keith Sutch, said: “In this 150th year it has been a pleasure to serve the past players and recognise them with this dinner in their honour. Although we have reached out to many players who have shown their support, I would still encourage more past players to contact us.”

Individual tickets are reduced from the original date, with them now priced at £25. A booking for a table of ten costs £200. Tickets are available by calling 01942 777680.

For past players and plus ones it costs £5 each. Past players should confirm their attendance by emailing Club Historian, Keith Sutch, at pastplayers@wiganwarriors.com. Please include your phone number in the email.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
