Bill Ashurst: Details confirmed for the funeral service of the Wigan rugby league legend

Post by josie andrews »

The funeral service of Wigan rugby league legend Bill Ashurst will be held at the DW Stadium on Tuesday July 5.

It will commence at 12pm at the South Stand entrance of the ground, with fans invited to pay their respects to the former Great Britain international.

Ashurst, who played for Wigan during two spells during the 60s and 70s, passed away at the age of 74 earlier this month.

A balloon release in his memory will also take place at Ince Rose Bridge on July 3.
