Coming up this week

Post by josie andrews »

Five Wigan Warriors teams are in action this week.

Women and Women’s Academy both in action, as well as the PDRL team.

First Team and Academy also take to the field, with all five teams away from home.

Last weekend saw a successful haul for the Warriors with all three teams in action claiming the two-points. This week, five teams take to the field, all away from home.

Women’s Academy

The first of the week’s action comes from the Women’s Academy. They have played just one match so far this year in the form of a 36-10 win away at Huddersfield back in May. This week they travel to Weetwood Hall to face Leeds Rhinos on Wednesday 10th August (7pm K.O.).

Supporters wishing to attend can do so, with a recommended £5 donation on the gate. Half time and full time updates will be available on our social media pages.

Academy

On Saturday 13th August, our Academy side return to action as they head to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle, Castleford to take on the Tigers (2:30pm K.O). The fixture is the penultimate match of the regular season and Wigan will be looking to make it a second win in a row. Half time and full time updates will be available on our social media pages.

PDRL

Also on Saturday, our PDRL side make the trip to Bradford where they will play three games, coming up against Leeds Rhinos, Warrington Wolves and Bradford Bulls in a tournament day.

First Team

The first team head to the Be Well Support Stadium to face Wakefield this Sunday 14th August (3pm K.O.)

Match tickets are available to buy online HERE and in-Store at Robin Park Arena (open Monday-Saturday, 10am-4pm). For all ticket information, including pricing and how to buy click HERE.

Women

Finally, our Women return to action after Sunday’s win over Huddersfield as they make the journey to the LNER Stadium to take on York City Knights on Sunday 14th August (3pm K.O.)

The Warriors have secured a play-off spot following Sunday’s win but will be looking to cement some form in performances heading into the business end of the season. Half time and full time updates will be available on our social media pages.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
