Futures programme returns

U15s & U16s pathway programme returns.

Programme allows players not on a Scholarship programme a route into a performance pathway.

Sessions take place weekly on Monday evenings at Robin Park Arena.

Wigan Warriors’ Youth Performance Team are delighted to announce the restart of our U15s and U16s England Talent Pathway programme.

The programme is aimed at aspiring Rugby League players in Year 10 and 11 who are not currently on Scholarship. This programme runs alongside our Scholarship programme and offers players who have not currently been offered a place on Scholarship an avenue into the performance pathway.

The sessions are planned by our youth performance coaches following the Club’s Scholarship curriculum.

The programme also includes several fixtures against Warrington Wolves and St Helens ETP programmes. This is a great opportunity for players to show their talents and give themselves a chance of making the step onto the performance pathway.

The sessions take place on Monday evenings at Robin Park Arena from 6pm until 7:30pm.

Junior Player Development Manager, Shane Eccles, said: “We are looking forward to working with these players who have the ambition to progress as Rugby League players. It is great to see this group come in as you can see the hunger they have to show their potential.

“This programme is a great opportunity for us to work with players and give them a platform to develop, we have had a number of players that have come through this system and are now regular first team players.

“Ethan Havard and Sam Halsall were on this programme at U15/16s and are now both valuable first team members who have been included in the England Knights squad this week.”

The first block of sessions will take place on:

3rd October
10th October
17th October

The second block of sessions will take place on:

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
