Wigan Warriors are seeking to hire a Social Media and Content Executive to join the Club’s Media department.

Reporting to the head of the department, you will help with the delivery of marketing and communications strategies and activations for all areas of the business across all of the Club’s channels.

The role will also incorporate all aspects of media and communications and developing content for the official Club Website. You will be part of a driven creative team always looking to develop and execute new ideas.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

To assist with the planning and implementation of marketing strategies and activations across the channel mix.
Assist the Media department with managing media requests and accreditation where required including media duties on matchday.
To bring daily excitement across all the Club’s social media channels through original content.
To be proactive, adaptable and assist on the wider strategy of long-term marketing and media plans.
To assist in the operation of the official Club website, producing, editing and publishing content.
Prepare and execute regular email communications to supporters in the form of an email newsletter.
Prepare email campaigns to help support ongoing projects.

To work with design agencies and printers to deliver marketing collateral.

To work with the marketing and media team to create social media content that drives audience interaction observing and acting on trends and being creative in maximising existing content as well as driving new ideas.

To work with the marketing and media team to coordinate day-to-day activities that lead to the completion of projects and tasks.

Conduct market research as and when required.
To work with other departments to meet targets.

Additional responsibilites:

To frequently work outside normal working hours including bank holidays, early mornings, evenings and weekends.
To undertake any other duties as requested by management that are appropriate to the job title.
Attend matches as required to provide coverage and content.

Qualifications and Skills:

(desirable but not essential) Educated to degree level.
Experience within a sports media and marketing environment.
Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels.
Strong attention to detail.
Exceptional verbal and written communications
Motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Salary: Competitive based on experience.
