Warriors Together: Week 5

Post by josie andrews »

Community Foundation head out in the Community for week five of ‘Warriors Together’ programme.

This week players visited schools as well as Green Crew in Hindley.

Warriors Together launched on Friday 2nd December.

Warriors Together aims to have an impact on all areas of the borough by working with schools and community groups in the most deprived and hard-to-reach areas of Wigan.

Taking place on Friday afternoons, Foundation staff and players have been going out to deliver engaging sessions in person in high schools, primary schools and at Robin Park Arena. The delivery is also being extended to the Foundation’s community groups such as Rugby Memories.

Week 5 – Friday 13th January

St Benedict’s Primary School
Hindley All Saints Primary School
Hindley High School
Green Crew

The final week of delivery involving the players saw Warriors first team players head out into the Community around Hindley visiting St Benedict’s Primary School as well as Hindley All Saints, Hindley High School and CIC Green Crew.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Good to hear that my home town of Hindley is "most deprived and hard to reach"! :D :D :D
