On Friday: Exclusive alternate kit party launch with entertainment and guests.

On Sunday: Free entry for Academy game at Robin Park Arena.

Then, Sam Powell testimonial at the DW Stadium with fan village making a return on Sunday 5th February.

A weekend of fun awaits as Rugby returns to Wigan! Join us this Friday from 6pm for the exclusive launch of our alternate kit, before celebrating an icon of the Club with Sam Powell’s Testimonial Match at the DW on Sunday 5th February (3pm K.O.)

Friday

We start the weekend with a pre-season party at Robin Park Arena to launch our brand-new alternate kit and announce our Charity partner for 2023. The shirt will be exclusively on sale to those joining us on Friday evening before going on general sale in-store and online on Saturday 4th February at 10am.

A night of live music and entertainment, there will be a full bar service on offer in the Fan Village with special guests and first team squad members in attendance! Tickets are £10 per person and can be purchased by visiting wwrl.net/party.

Sunday

First up on Sunday 5th February, Wigan Warriors’ Academy side will be in action, hosting Salford Red Devils Academy at Robin Park Arena with an 11:30am kick-off, with FREE ENTRY for everyone!

Our Robin Park Arena fan village will be open 11am for fans to sit back, relax and soak up the pre-match atmosphere. The Club store will also be open from 11am, where you can pick up Sam Powell’s testimonial shirt, the new 2023 Alternate kit as well as much more Wigan Warriors merchandise.

Look out for some of our new additions at the fan village, including a Wigan Warriors height chart to see how you measure up against some former Wigan greats! Also on Sunday, the players will do their appreciation walk as they make their way from the Robin Park Arena changing rooms, through the atmospheric fan village and across to the DW Stadium to the warm-up.

We then turn our attention to our final pre-season fixture before 2023 Super League gets underway, as we celebrate 11-years of Sam Powell with a testimonial match in his honour at the DW Stadium against Salford Red Devils (3pm K.O.)

A one Club man, Sam arrived at the Wigan Academy from Wigan St Patricks ARLFC at the age of 16, making his debut in 2012 and has being a staple member of the squad ever since.

Now aged 30, he’s entering his 11th season of professional Rugby League and is able to boast a highly successful career so far, including two Super League Grand Final victories (2016 & 2018), a World Club Challenge (2017) and two League Leaders’ Shields (2012 & 2020).

The players will be wearing a specially produced, exclusive testimonial jersey designed by Sam Powell himself, which is available to purchase online and from the Robin Park Arena Club store and priced at £50.00 for Adults and £35.00 for Juniors. Read more about Sam’s jersey and buy HERE.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
