Three key roles available to support the continued development of Wigan Warriors Women’s teams.

Appointments part of the wider investment strategy for the Women’s teams.

The Club have vacancies for First team Assistant Coach, Performance Analyst and Sport Massage Therapist.

As part of Wigan Warriors commitment to develop Women’s and Girls Rugby League pathways, the Club is investing in additional support staff for the Women’s First team and Academy.

We are looking for individuals who have a drive and determination to really make a difference in the development of the Women and Girls game. The new positions will play a key role in shaping the future of the Women’s Super League team and Academy pathway.

Women & Girls Teams Employment opportunities (3 positions)

* Women’s First Team Assistant Head Coach & Development Officer.

* Performance Analyst.

* Sports Massage Therapist.

WOMEN’S FIRST TEAM ASSISTANT HEAD COACH & DEVELOPMENT OFFICER.

The Women’s First team Assistant Head Coach and Development Officer is a full-time role to assist the Women’s First Team Head Coach alongside working with local Community Clubs, secondary schools and partners to promote and develop the sport of Rugby League.

Main Responsibilities


* Act as Assistant Head Coach and support Women’s First Team Head Coach in all training and competition requirements.

* Coordinate Women’s First team training and training programmes as appropriate.

* Provide high-quality coaching to a range of schools and Community Clubs.

* Support the delivery of all Wigan Warriors Community Foundation Rugby League coaching requirements for participation, programmes, development camps and wider Community activity as appropriate.

* Support and grow participation in Women & Girls Rugby League.

* Identify new ways to develop income and secure funding for existing and new Rugby League development initiatives.

*Contribute to the achievement of targets in the club and community foundation strategy.
Essential skills include:

* Experience of coaching Rugby League at Club level.

* Coaching qualifications in Rugby League.

* Excellent knowledge of Rugby League including the laws of the game, current teams and players, tactics and game plans.

* Desire to make a significant difference in the quality and participation of Women & Girls Rugby League.

* Excellent team player and able to work effectively as part of a team.

* Willingness to work weekends and evenings.

Desirable skills include:

* Degree or equivalent qualification in sport-related subject.

Hours

The role is 37.5 hours per week with evening and weekend work required.

PERFORMANCE ANALYST

Wigan Warriors are looking for Rugby League Analysts to support the Women’s First Team. The role will entail collecting performance data on Women’s Super League matches. Work will predominantly be at weekends.

Main Responsibilities:

* To attend all Wigan Warriors Women’s First team fixtures, agreed pre-season friendlies and select training sessions to capture, prepare and analyse video and data.

* Support the management and development of performance databases.

*Use objective data to enhance the coaching process, impact performance decisions and improve players’ performance.

* Produce effective and compelling analytical insights that can be maximised by the coaches and players.

Essential skills include:

* Excellent knowledge of Rugby League including the laws of the game, current teams and players, tactics and game plans.

* Good IT skills.

* Excellent team player and able to work effectively as part of a team.

* Willingness to work weekends and evenings.

* Capacity to concentrate for long periods and excellent attention to detail.

Desirable skills include:

* Coaching or related qualifications in Rugby League.

* Degree or equivalent qualification in sport or technology-related subject.

* Experience with sports video analysis software.

Hours

The role will be offered on a part-time basis, 5 hours per week.

SPORTS MASSAGE THERAPIST

Wigan Warriors are looking for a Sports Massage Therapist to work with our Women’s First Team and Academy. The Sports Massage Therapist will work with a multi-disciplinary team including Physiotherapists, Doctors and Strength and Conditioning coaches to assist in both rehabilitation and injury prevention.

Main Responsibilities

* Provide sport massage treatments and injury management for Women’s First team and Academy players.

* Support the continued rehabilitation of injured players.

* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside Doctors, Physiotherapists and our Performance Services department.

* Ensure medical records are accurate and up to date.

* Work within the team to ensure excellent service is provided
.
* Provide pre and post-exercise massages for players.

Essential skills include:

* Appropriate Sports Massage qualifications at Level 3 and above.

* Time management skills to be able to plan and regulate workload including the ability to prioritise demand and thrive under pressure.

* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

* Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships.

* Willingness to work weekends and evenings.

Desirable skills include:

* Degree or higher level qualifications in a related subject.

Hours

The role is 6 hours per week during evenings and weekends.
