We are away from home so we can expect to be on the wrong end of the pen count and behind on six again decisions. Something like one in five chance of an away team being on the right end of either.

The crowd will be loud and on Kendall's back at the first sign of a decision against the home side.

No doubt the match commentators and summarisers will bang on about discipline or a lack of it when it's more about the referee trying to keep the home crowd off his back by decisions in their favour.

At least it's not as bad as when years ago we'd go to Leeds or Cas and be 9-1 down on the pen count after 60 mins with the game gone. The refs back then of course would even up the pen count so final reading would be 12-10 to the home team.

It's a matter of how good Wigan lads can be at overcoming these difficulties. Whether the coaching team guide the players in as much as how to play the referee as much as the opposition. I do hope so.

They’ll be warming Liam Moores ‘I’m definitely not a bias Wiganer’ show up, ready for Good Friday.

Saints favourite referee and it’s little wonder. We should just do what they do every time they get Kendall and he doesn’t fall for their gamesmanship and complain. He didn’t get a Saints game for months at one point a year or two back and hasn’t been seen in their games since Leeds a few weeks ago.
