In the NRL, they have a basically similar (although not identical) system, and yet no-one there says that the early round matches don't matter, and there is no lack of intensity. I don't see why it can't be the same in SL.
I understand this point but maybe it’s just standards

Realistically there are so few teams in the superleague capable of winning it

Leeds are the one that consistently proves you can be terrible for most the season yet still make the final

I’m not sure why this isn’t a thing in the nrl

I think it’s the standard of teams across a larger competition that does it - NRL has both more teams in the league and bigger squads, which enables higher standards and more emphasis on points as teams will struggle to make the playoffs.

Look at Superleague - we usually know who will make the playoffs early in the season.

Did he play for our academy or something? I don't remember this if he did.
I think when they say "boyhood club" in this case they are referring to the fact that Singleton was a Wigan fan when he was growing up in Barrow. He once published a photo of him aged 12 with Sean O'Loughlin I seem to remember

Yes he was & probably still is 😊
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Thanks, that makes a bit more sense. Didn't think he'd played for us before.
