Troubled Cronulla rugby league star Greg Bird will quit the club to play in England next season.
Fairfax Community Newspaper, The St George and Sutherland Shire Leader reported that Bird had accepted a release of less than $100,000 a year to head to the UK.
He is expected to sign with either Wigan or Warrington in the English Super League.
How many more Aussies with problems do we need in an already lacking Wigan side! I also dont see why anyone would want him when he is up in court for domestic violence...
I am not condoning his actions BUT if we disregardplayers for such incidents then why did we ever sign Ellery Hanley, why did we retain Joe Lydon? why did we retain Feka? No doubt there are many more.

Retain players, fine, because there is no need to waste more money by getting rid, also we dont have much media pressence in this country, so it wouldnt be as contraversial, but there is no need to go signing more nutters!
