Mark Percival

Post by First Try Tickle »

I heard a rumour over the weekend that Gelling is going to join New Zealand Warriors and we are getting Mark Percival from Saints.

I do like Gelling, but he's so annoying and always prone to something stupid.

I think Percival is a great prospect and he can kick.

But yet again, nothing can be announced until after the World Cup has finished

Roll on the 3rd of December.

If true, Sts must have someone pretty special to replace Percival, otherwise their fans will go into meltdown.

Generally, yes, he can kick. However, it was quite odd, curious and out of character that he missed four of his five kicks in a very vital game against Castleford. :eusa4:
Do you mean in his LAST game for Saints.

I've heard he had a fall out with Holbrook.

Hope your right but didn’t he sign a 4 year deal last season?

Percival and Currie in the centres would be a good combination

We had all this last year with Percival. I won't be getting too excited, after all he's not a Wiganer.
Furthermore I wouldn't like to see Gildhart out of the frame as has been mentioned in this thread, he is one than lifts your backside off the seat!

Percival is an excellent young player with the potential to become even better. He does seem to play on the same side as Gilly so I don't know if that would be a problem. However, I just can't see this signing happening. When was the last time we managed to take a top young player from one of the top teams in super league? We either don't have the space on the cap and/or are not prepared to spend the large sums of money required. Currie, Gale and now Percival! Is somebody at the club encouraging rumours just to keep us interested in a very disappointing off season? I'd be delighted with any of these signings but they're just not going to happen. We still haven't confirmed any additions to the coaching staff.

That's an interesting slant re. Club generated rumours. It's also worrying because it signals inactivity as the reality of the situation.
