Was this the same meeting as he asked the supporters if they wanted to play a home game in Australia. He will sign and do what he wants after all its he's money.

This is a really interesting situation. Do some people have, or think they have, an insight into how long his ban will be? i.e. know something that we don't? I can't understand why they haven't sorted out the length of the ban yet. To be honest, if we could have him for next season I'd take the gamble but not in two years time. Surely Cas themselves must have considered all of the options and I suspect they would keep him if he got a 'reduced' ban. I suspect the attraction to Lenagan would be a very good player at a reduced price on a tight contract. I'm really not a fan of what Hardaker's done but there are many examples of teams taking on players with damaged reputations if they could make a big difference to the squad.

Surely UKAD are the people dealing with this not the RFL? There is nothing I can see on their website re Hardaker. Knowing the insides of several cycling bans, it can take a few months for these things to happen. We don't even know for certain what he tested positive for,

Rangi Chase took 4 months from violation to ban.

This is the only factual report I can see.

A Rugby Football League Spokesperson, said: "The Rugby Football League can confirm that Zak Hardaker is provisionally suspended from all competition after it received notification from UK Anti-Doping that he had tested positive for a banned substance following a Super 8s game between Castleford Tigers and Leeds Rhinos on September 8, 2017.

"He will therefore not be considered for the England Rugby League World Cup squad due to be announced today (Monday) at 12pm.

"The Rugby Football League will be making no further comment until the outcome of the case has been determined."

Exactly!! Wigan HAVE enquired about his contract at an advanced stage. He is the chairman and ultimately he will do what he wants. Quality rugby player...headbanger at the same time.

I also echo Medlockes comments Re Hock.

Coke allegedly. Punishment depends on whether it is classed as "in competition" or not. Might get away with it like Barba as I believe he was caught by an early morning mid week visit by the testers i.e. not directly after a match.

Hock on the other hand got tested randomly after a match vs Salford and showed positive therefore was classed as "in competition" despite the fact he had taken the drug the previous day.

Despite Hardaker's obvious talent I wouldn't want him near the club because of all the other baggage that comes with him besides the failed drug test.

I have one question

I know a deal was brokered between Leeds and Cas so Hardaker could play for the tigers as no one was willing to pay his full transfer fee (think it was something like £300K).

But who, if anyone, would receive a transfer fee?

What message is this sending out to impressionable youngsters?
But Wigan have already broken this with Hock so be hypocritical to get on our high horse now

Players are not role models and people should stop expecting them to be, if a kid looks to any sports star on how to behave then they haven't been brought up right.
Plus Wigan have no place on any high horse with what we let our players get away with
