Hardaker to Wigan edges closer

Post by josie andrews »

Former Castleford Tigers star Zak Hardaker is moving ever closer to the DW Stadium and Wigan Warriors, claims Dave Parker in his column for League Weekly.

According to Parker, Hardaker will be given a job around the stadium while he serves whatever suspension he will receive.

The wage for the job is set to be around £1,000-a-week, suggest League Weekly.

I sincerely hope that is not the case!!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Why? didnt drop when hock was allowed back?

Don't know the figures, but after all Wigan did for him he left us didn't he? A Wigan lad at that.

Ancient and Loyal and all that.
The Hock affair did backfire on Wigan. As great a player that Hock could have been, I don't think his heart was ever in the game. Some of the stuff he did made you think he was trying to get sacked.

As for Hardaker, maybe whoever is willing to take a chance on him, believe he's just ben stupid rather than be set on a self destruct course.

I've heard he was back out drinking with all his old mates again at the weekend. I do worry that trouble seems to follow Zak and he isn't taking the right steps all the time to get away from it. He's a great player so I hope we get to benefit from that, at least as much as Leeds did, but if he only lasts a year before doing something stupid again then I don't think it would be viewed as having been worth it.

Top players don't become available very often and therefore I think it is worth Wigan giving it a punt. A fully focused Zak can make a massive difference to our team in the same way that Barba has done at Saints.

Support will increase make no mistake, Hardaker is a class act and a crowd pleaser. Whether we should sign him is another matter but top players draw crowds.
