Wigan would like to offload him.

Re: Powell
Thought Powell only signed a new deal last close season as he'd had a good offer from Widnes.
Link this with Williams rumoured departure and perhaps the new coaches will be looking for a new half back pair.
That should prove interesting.

Re: Powell
I think Powell is one of the finest half backs Wigan have ever had in the number 9 position each and every game

Re: Powell
Well given IL and Rads said they were the ones who deal the playing staff in the Edwards & Lam press conference the pair of them cocked up bug time agreeing to that and it doesn't do wonders for your confidence in their judgement on players.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:He's due another increase!DaveO wrote:Should not have increased his wages last year then!shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:Wigan would like to offload him.

Re: Powell
Don't you think they would have been persuaded by Waney to re-sign him as SW saw him as the first name on the team sheet?
Very difficult for IL & KR if that was anything like the situation.

Re: Powell
Powell is a good player to have in a squad. As we saw in the past, having a player who can cover 6,7 and 9 or be used to spell 9 and even 13 can be really useful. The problem is that he is not creative enough to be first on the team sheet. He does a good job of replacing others but is less effective when playing along side them. At one point in the Castleford game Tommy was completely out of it and was crying out to be rested. Being able to bring Powell off the bench would have been ideal.
Re: Powell
he s defo not a 7 and never will be .if the new coaches see him in the same light as wane we shall see .i think his days could be numbered at wigan
