He's out of contract at the end of the season.

Maybe true I don't know.
Just makes me think that perhaps if he had an outstanding season will he be offered a deal by an NRL club then leave?

That's why I'd prefer Joe Mellor, Widnes's best player with pace which Drinkwater hasn't got, great passing game and a good kicking game.
Mellor will be 28 start of next season and a 2+1 or 3 year deal I'm sure he'd see out at Wigan. With Lockers, Tommy and George that could leave end of 2019 we need to recruit someone in the mid field who'll stay around.

Matty smith is a definite for Catalans next season Already signed a couple of months ago, was told by one of Castlefords major sponsors that he asked Matty to go on loan to them but he said Holbrook won’t let him and wants him
For 18th man every week, so he said what about next season and he said he had already signed for Catalans
