Matty Smith leaving Saints

Now I know he had his critics but I liked Matty, since next season will just be a limbo year until Edwards arrives do you think it'll be worth it for one year.
Pros
A leader on the pitch
Game intelligence
We lack a true #7
Can kick as well as anyone we have at the moment.
Takes some pressure of George
Cons
Age
We're not going to go out and pay a ton of money next year so imo it makes sense.

OP must have a replica shirt with "Smith" on it so is looking to get another years use out of it without spending any money - a bit like Catalans really

I must be confused but which of our 7's is a better player and leader than Matty?
Unless AL is going to be given money to go out a buy a scrum half then the answer is none.
