I think Harry Smith is doing a fine job in the halves. Suppose its not bad business to bring in a young aussie back if Tommy and Jackson are set for pastures new!

I've never been that impressed with Field; he was going to be the next big thing when he was at the Dragons, but it didn't really happen. And he does look a bit, well, weedy. I would regard him as a long way below Bevan French.

The NRL is a step up on SL but I only think that's because the average player is of a better quality. Bateman was very good over here and I would argue hes been better over there. Williams well I always thought he was good over here, the marquee tag seemed to highlight any inconsistency in his game for some of our fans but again hes doing well over there. Was Hodgson or Whithead special in SL? Well both have been decent or above in NRL.
Field to me is just needing game time and confidence. Alot like Blake Green who came through with a big rep but never made it until a stint over here allowed him to find his game. French was also not playing top grade but I would say he's doing OK over here?
I think the style of play in SL could benefit Feild , especially with a half like Smith. I hope French stays for another year, him and Feild would give us real pace.
