Whether he’s classed as a marquee or not will have no impact on his actual contract as the contract between the player and the club is completely separate to the salary cap and marquee rule.

How on Earth do you come to this conclusion?

Give Hastings Burgesses Marquee salary, or better still split it with French.

French's decision to go home is nothing to do with money.
