Mitchell Pearce

Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

Sam T was paid exactly what was agreed.
His form at the time of the extension had been poor (due to injury after injury) and at the time.

IL didn't take the extra year and offered a new contract instead.

That is not not agreeing what was paid.

But you know let's continue to bash IL with any half forgotten situation you can.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

There's an article about Mitchell Pearce in yesterday's Sydney Morning Herald.
Great write up over what he's achieved and missed out on.

On a critical note they said in the play offs he was slow, devoid of attacking ideas, never ran the ball and fell off tackles where defence used to be his strongpoint.

Overall after having read that I'd rather us look around, it looks like it was James Maloney who suggested he joined Catalans and turned his head.

Are you related to IL? I think you must be given you seem too think the sun shines out of is bum.

What happened was IL had the option to have Sam T here for another year by exercising the option in his contract. He chose no to do that because he didn't want to pay him the money agreed in that contract. He wanted him at the club the following season but on less money. Would you accept less money for doing the same job?

The justification for this being that his form didn't warrant it, which is one you seem to support, was utterly ludicrous. Class is permanent, form is temporary as he has proved by winning the Man of Steel. The injury excuse is just as ludicrous given how far out of its way the club went for Manfredi and Tomkins was fit again.

The fact is all those excuses were just a load of BS to cover up the fact the club wanted him to play on for the club for less money than his contract option which the club had agreed and it backfired.

Net result is we lost our best player when we did not need to and replaced him with one who, even if he stays, clearly now doesn't want to be here either. Letting your best player leave when you have a contract option is inept.

Class is permanent is a cheap excuse to try a prove a point, long term injuries can effect ability permanently.

You have done your usual though of half truthna situation to try and establish your view being more valid than anyone else.

https://www.skysports.com/rugby-league/ ... 018-season

The club didn't take up the 1 year option but offered him a 4 year contract

The below part is down to if you believe KR or not but:

He also said he was not expecting the Wigan offer to be as good as it was and that had made the decision even more difficult.

Then there was Catalan approaching Tomkins before they where suppose to.

And to the would i accept less in the real world no but then if my performance wasn't on par to what was expected it does effect payrises/Bonuses.

And no I don't think the Sun shines out of IL backside its just irrating to see your Anti IL KR routine no matter what they do.

It was the Dragons underhand approach to Sam, & it was his wife, then girlfriend Charlotte, who encouraged him to take up the offer from Catalan which of course he did!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
