Ratchford / Charnley

Post by Dan2266 »

Apparently Matt Dufty is heading to Warrington next year, Wonder if Wigan will have a conversation with Ratchford seen as he's out of contract...?

Wigan are interested in Charnley as well but he would need to take a pay cut, interestingly Charnley liked a comment on social media asking him to return to Wigan as well. Could be one to keep an eye on

Ratchford is a fine player who covers a lot of bases, yes he’s getting on a bit but that sort of player can be a master stroke signing at times he’d be a sound signing for my.

Charnley he’s still scoring but doesn’t look happy now the master of the fun house is in charge at wire so no surprise he’s looking at moving on,truth is the wire job is in fairness a huge rebuilding job so I’d expect him to move many a player on this year.

I sincerely hope not. Why would we want wire cast offs. we should be trying to sign players like johnstone and Duffy. Not players past there best.

Johnstone is forever injured though he’s spectacular for sure but to risky for me.

I was shocked to read that Catalans had offered Johnstone a deal to be fair.

Christ on a bike, Does Lenagan have no ambition ffs, all he ever buys is damaged or project players, when was the last time we bought a genuine superstar player like days of old

I will await all the usual abuse

What SL club has bought genuine superstars it's always old has beens or players struggling to get a gig elsewhere.

However we should not touch Ratchford or Charnley they are both to old to be considered for any long term Contract and I don't see the benefits of a short term one for either.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

Both players available for free and would improve our squad, Its been reported Bibby has been offered a deal by Huddersfield, I'm lead to believe that it is all but signed.

I would be happy to have Charnley and Marshall as our wingers, especially if Josh would take a pay cut. I can’t see Ratchford bringing anything to the party. We may have a spine of Field, Cust, Smith, Smithies and O’Neill for the next couple of years at least, which is a good balance. Having another specialist winger would be very handy indeed, to get us on the front foot and finish the chances that lot will create.
