Why?
The pitch is immaculate because it only gets used for football!
So are you saying Wigan won’t be playing at Bolton because they want to keep the pitch in good order? If so, that is a strange reason for turning down income, especially when they are promoting a bond issue.
That's a goer and destined to happen as opposed to all the hypothetical stuff of this and that!

Whether it is hypothetical is a matter of opinion, I can guarantee those discussions have taken place. IFL has got to plan for the worst.

The pitch isn't being replaced....they've decided just to re-seed it.

As for concerts / events at the DW...there's a reason why it hasn't and can't happen. The stadium was built with a concrete mix that doesn't pass health and safety / weight bearing levels.

What’s the difference between a concert and rugby/football game?

I would think the sheer number of people on the pitch.

Not like DW to have built it on the cheap with the money from the sale of Central Park

Whelan needed Central Park though to build the new stadium or he wouldnt have got permission, so whether directly or indirectly Central Park was used towards building the stadium.

he didnt put in anywhere near the amount that people have been led to believe once the council, grants, etc came into play
