Have just read on Sky text that Noble is after Mark Flanagan an 18 year old goal kicking stand off from Bradford Bulls, has anybody got any further info on him.

The story has also been in the Wigan papers and in one or two of the nationals. It sounds authentic as they are stating that we have made a formal offer which the Bulls have refused but we are expected to up that offer shortly.

Don't know much about the lad except that he played for England Academy v the Aussie schoolboys, and he went to (or possibly is still at) a college in Oldham, so he's a Lancashire lad, if on the Bulls' books.

supposedly he has already signed over a month ago, but then again if you belive rumours our front row for next season would consist of MOI MOI/Peacock/Newton/Civonceva/Fielden/Hindmarsh!

I also heard a rumour that Lockers is actually going to try and play this year  :sly:

I've heard that he's pretty useful. Of course, he's still only a kid. A good kicker, by all accounts.

Does the signing of Mark Flanagan suggest that Noble doesn't think the players in the Wigan Academy are good enough. There have been good things said about Sam Tomkins who also plays Stand Off, Joel Tomkins can also play Stand Off as can James Coyle, does Noble think that they will not be good enough for Wigan or is Mark Flanagan just a brilliant player.

i was on bradford bulls site about a week ago whith this story! and from what the bradfut fans are saying he is out of contract anyway. he is only 18 so mainly backup for the senior squad. but he can kick goals so maybe he will get a few games?

If hes a good kicker he doesnt need to be a superstar for noble to like him, take for example Deacon, if he's mediocre with a good kicking game Nobby will like him.

A good kicking game is 1 of the biggest part of our failure over the last few seasons.
