Carney

Not sure how reliable it is, but this is a forum for rumours, so what the Hell?

A friend tells me that Phil Clark has tipped Carney to re-sign for Wigan before this season is over. Does Clarky know something we don't, or is it pure guesswork?

Makes you wonder with these renewed stories about Peacock, if maybe Calderwood could be going the other way as part of a deal? (Calderwood to Leeds was another rumour that was doing the rounds during the close-season, you may recall).

Who knows? It's only a rumour and a bit of speculation, but I found it interesting.

Hope its just a rumor. It would be a backward step IMO

There was also during the close season, a Pat Richards to Leeds rumour. That would be less of a controversy in my opinion, as we'd be keeping the Brit winger and letting the foreign national go.

Still speculation of course, based on an uncertain tip.

I watched it (boots 'n' all) Stevo and clarky got asked to predict the outcome of the superleague season (with only one game played?), Stevo said Stains to win it and Hull to be up there and Clarke replied with Brian Carney to re-sign for Wigan and score the winning try in the grand final.
So do you think it's a rumour now?, i think not. :wink: .
Clarke even called us the mighty Warriors during the show.

Vaeliki = ANYWHERE, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT'S SACRED, ANYWHERE!
Richards -> Centre = Disaster
Carney = Retirement, we don't need another season of him playing half a dozen games!

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

I'll second that. Carney went into semi-retirement during his last season with us.

But how would you feel if he was brought in as a replacement for Calderwood (or Richards), Calders or Richards having had to leave as part of a deal for Peacock?

Not saying this will happen. Just speculation after hearing what Phil Clark said, seeing the thread about Peacock, and putting two and two together (and coming up with five :lol: ).
